Steven Moffat, on one of his favorite books.
More about The Princess Bride: [x]
(SVT Sweden Babel appearance, April 2014 [x] (Video mark 51:47))
I would recommend […] The Princess Bride by William Goldman.
It’s a wonderful book; it’s about storytelling.
It’s supposedly him adapting a story his father used to tell him for his son—by cutting all the dull bits out, and any kissing, and getting rid of it all.
I think it’s both a wonderful book and a film, which is a double whammy.
Do you know why this word exists?
Drapetomania is the fictitious disease that the Southern slave doctor Samuel A. Cartwright created to categorize the tendency for slaves to run away as a mental illness to be cured. Because white people wholeheartedly believed that enslaving us was a service to us ( saving us from our brutish, lascivious, and lazy ways) and any right minded individual could see that..The prescribed
punishmenttreatment for drapetomania was torture and hard labor.
Do not put this on your artsy blogs.
Do not erase the deplorable history behind it.
This is a truly heinous word. Whoever originally posted this was an ignorant fuck. And this definition is a crock of shit.
An overwhelming urge to run away.
Go fuck yourself.
Rule of thumb: Never trust any word that contains “mania”, there is usually historical oppression and destruction behind them.
Most of these actors are too old, some of the edits are still messy but I’m tired of staring at them on photoshop, and we’re never going to agree on houses for everyone BUT I think I should get a solid B for effort. (list of actors can be found here)
